Romancing the Bank Machine

So last evening my wallet told me to obtain some dineros from the bank machine. Of course, because I always listen to my wallet when it tells me to do things (including other tasks like zipping the zipper to the rhythm of "Leader of the Pack" and "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'), I entered the tiny bank machine cubicle to perform my banking business. This is when I started to question my developing feelings toward said money dispenser. I had never met such a kind and gentle machine (except when I met R2D2 at a science fiction fair.... and not to go off on a tangent, but that was the wildest night of my life.)
Anyways, the screen was offering Spanish words as well as a very flowery English version of the sentences. I was obviously impressed with its versatility.

It read: "Buenas Noches and Good Evening. I am pleased to obtain the pleasure of your business."

I thought, how nice. And I'm pleased to obtain the pleasure of standing in this bank box while Mr. Moustachioed-Colombiano over there checks out my ass.

Then it read: "Would your preference for this particular opportunity be with Spanish or with English?

And I thought, how intelligent. It knows words like "preference" and "or".

I chose English, and it thanked me for the choice I made. I verbally "your welcom-ed" it.

Then it read: "Please dip your information card into the slot. Then remove it with quick care."

And I thought, oooh, I just dip it in, eh? Just a little in-n'-out dipping action? Take my information card for a little dip into your slot? (This is when I got a little tingly, and moved closer to the machine to really feel its warmth against my leg.)

Once I had retrieved my 300 thousand pesos with ease, the machine read: "Thank you for your time. Please visit again with another opportunity to serve you."

Although it didn't say so, I felt a special connection last night, and I know it felt the same. I know it.
